Our Story
Nature’s Harvest Stockfeed Supplies was established by the Symonds family in 2011, and is a subsidiary of Yankalilla Seeds. Originally founded in 1962 by Colin Symonds, Yankalilla Seeds was predominantly a seed sale business for pasture and cereal grain. With the aid of his sons, Peter and David, the business grew to encompass not just the sales of pasture and cereals, but to the production and manufacture of the seed as well.
In 2011, Peter & David Symonds purchased Nature’s Harvest Stockfeed Supplies to use as a distribution centre for the birdseed and wholegrain range that is being manufactured at Yankalilla, and also took on 2 brands of horse, poultry and dog food, that remain a part of the product range today.
Since the inception of our distribution centre 10 years ago, Nature’s Harvest has relocated twice due to consistent growth, moving to our current home on Cormack Road, Wingfield in October 2018. This purpose-built building has allowed us room for further growth, quadrupling the amount that we could store at our previous premises on Wingfield Road. We have grown from having less than 50 lines of product, to having well over 2500 in our portfolio, and we aim to be a one stop distribution wholesaler to our retail customers.
Nature’s Harvest remains an SA family owned and operated business and has been for over 60 years. We take pride in our focus on providing a quality and timely service and we are always looking for ways to improve our customer service and product range, taking on new suppliers if the demand is seen.
Nature’s Harvest
After further diversification in 2011, with the introduction of our “Nature’s Harvest” Branch in Wingfield, the Seed Division is now under the Management of Jarrad Symonds, 3rd Generation and son of Peter, with David managing the Natures Harvest Branch.
Yankalilla Seeds is family owned and operated, and has been for over 50 years. We take pride in that fact and the values withheld back in the 1960’s by CR are still withheld and adhered to today.
